Who is Tarot Professionals? Tarot Professionals was founded by Marcus Katz, M.A., M.B.A.. & Tali Goodwin, Marketing Director. Marcus has been studying, reading and teaching Tarot for 30 years. His first Tarot book, Tarosophy, is now published. Tali has co-authored Tarot Flip, Tarot Twist, Around the Tarot in 78 Days and Tarot Face to Face. Together they researched and published Abiding in the Sanctuary, the discovery of A. E. Waite's second Tarot, the Waite-Trinick Tarot. We publish the worlds leading Tarot magazine:
and the Tarot social site with over 8,000 participants sharing some of the best in Tarot development!

Each year we ask the several thousands of Tarot students, enthusiasts, teachers, artists, designers, developers, collectors and authors who are engaged in the Tarot Professionals networks, such as Tarot Town, our Facebook group, Twitter, Tarosophy® Tarot Associations, Alliance and Membership, to vote for one person who has shown outstanding contribution to Tarot throughout the year. This allows us to recognise those who often go unrecognised, as it is said, "the worker is hidden in the workshop". The contribution they make to Tarot is often to ensure it is better considered, integrated, made more accessible, better educated, or re-invented for contemporary society. It is often a professional contribution or an academic one, but it always raises the level of Tarot towards its spiritual integrity.
VOTE HERE FOR YOUR NOMINEE FOR 2011 VOTING CLOSES December 24th 2011 so we can deliver the Award as a Christmas Present! The winner of the Award is given a life-time membership of Tarot Professionals and an animated trophy to display upon their website and in other social online media. Their work is championed throughout the following year. Please make your vote, noting that previous winners (who still hold the award for "their" year) are not up for voting again, which is: Ciro Marchetti (2009), Emily E. Auger (2009), and Donnaleigh de LaRosa for Beyond Worlds (2010). Members of the Tarot Professionals Admin Team are also not up for voting, which are: Marcus Katz, Tali Goodwin, Simon Thorley & Jon Kaneko-James. Each year we'd like to add another person to the Award, to join those who have been voted in previous years continuing the development of Tarot.
Award Holders from Prior Years By popular vote, we were delighted to announce our 2010 Tarosophist of the Year Award went to: Donnaleigh de LaRose & the cast of Beyond Worlds Radio Show. Donnaleigh, Storm, Theresa and Georgianna have consistently produced an educational, wide-ranging, contemporary, relevant, fun, accessible, professional and well-produced online radio show for Tarot. Their guests have included Lon Milo Duquette, Rachel Pollack, Mary K. Greer, and I personally discovered how friendly and professional they were as hosts when I appeared on the show during the year. Donnaleigh's infectious enthusiasm and courteous questioning gets the best out of every guest, supported by Storm's sharp wit, Theresa's no-nonsense approach and Georgianna's down-to-earth authenticity. As a group, they are the ideal "four suits" of a full deck and demonstrate the diverse heart of the Tarot. You can access the archives, showtimes, and schedules of the show here: BEYOND WORLDS RADIO As we have listened to so many shows on BlogTalk Radio, the system used by Donnaleigh, Storm, Theresa and Georgianna, for this show and their own individual projects, we have realised how much work goes into making a professional production on a technical level - Beyond Worlds has consistently managed to attain this production level. They have managed to bridge Skype calls, handle the chatroom and switchboard, promotion and production, post-editing, graphics, show-notes, supporting documentation and yet on-air sound cheerily breezy as if there was nothing else happening! Kudos! Those voting for Donnaleigh, Storm, Theresa and Georgianna often referred to the show as "dynamic", "refreshing", "innovative", "constantly curious", "educational" and "meaningful", all the qualities for this well-deserving TAROSOPHIST OF THE YEAR AWARD. We truly applaud them and look forwards to their exciting projects in 2011. We would like to thank everyone who voted in this years award and those who received votes for their outstanding services to Tarot, including Barbara Moore, Corrine Kenner, Thalassa Therese, Anastasia Haysler, Maureen Rothwell, Janine Worthington and many more who received votes in what has been a watershed year for Tarot. Our previous winners of the Tarosophist of the Year Award 2009 were Emily E. Auger and Ciro Marchetti. |
